J. Morag MacKay

Chief Research And Network Officer at Safe Kids Worldwide

J. Morag MacKay has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. From 1993 to 1995, they served as a Data/Surveillance Coordinator at the Injury Prevention Centre, University of Alberta Hospitals. They then moved on to work at Manitoba Health as a Public Health Epidemiologist from 1995 to 1997. In 1996, they joined the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario as the Director of Plan-it Safe, staying in that position until 2004. From 1999 to 2005, J. Morag MacKay worked as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Community Medicine at the University of Ottawa. In 2004, they joined the European Child Safety Alliance as a Programme Manager and remained there until 2015. Afterward, they joined Safe Kids Worldwide, where they held various positions, starting as Director of Research from 2016 to 2020, then Director of Research and Network from 2020 to 2022, and finally as Chief Research and Network Officer from 2022.

J. Morag MacKay completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) at the University of Ottawa, which spanned from 1985 to 1989. Subsequently, MacKay pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Medical Science with a specialization in Epidemiology at the University of Calgary from 1989 to 1991.
