Christopher Neal has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental health and safety. Christopher started their career as an Industrial Hygienist at EnviroMed, Inc. in 1998 and then moved on to become the Manager of Environmental Health & Safety at Environmental Health & Engineering in 1999. In this role, they managed EH&S office for Harvard Institutes of Medicine and New Research Building. During their tenure, they handled various responsibilities including regulatory liaising, staff management, EH&S training program management, laboratory inspections, hazardous waste management, fire and life safety, controlled substances compliance, chemical hygiene, exposure monitoring, biosafety, indoor air quality investigation, and emergency incident response.
In 2014, Christopher joined Vertex Pharmaceuticals as the Lead Environmental Health & Safety Associate, where they worked for two years before transitioning to their current role as the Quality, Research, and Training Specialist at Safety Partners, Inc. Since starting in September 2016, they have been responsible for ensuring quality standards, conducting research, and providing training in their area of expertise.
Christopher Neal attended Princeton University from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. In terms of certifications, they obtained the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act / Department of Transportation (RCRA/DOT) certification from the EPA / DOT in July 2002. In November 2001, they earned the Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) 24-hour technician certification from OSHA. Lastly, in July 2010, they became a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager through the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management.
