Ed Hanson

Ed Hanson is the current Director of IT at Safety Services Company. Prior to their current position, they were the Senior Director of Information Technology at Fiesta Bowl from December 2011 to April 2019. In this role, they were responsible for providing strategic planning, architecture design, project management, and hands-on operations with fiscal responsibility to deliver end to end IT infrastructure that supports the business goals of department leaders and the organization.

Some of their notable accomplishments include creating and executing a cloud migration strategy from high availability clustered Microsoft Windows Hyper-V servers on-premise infrastructure to hybrid cloud hosted servers in Azure (saving $80,000 in capital equipment cost), implementing intrusion prevention and detection using next-generation Cisco ASA Firewall, Barracuda Spam Firewall, Web Security Gateway, endpoint protection, and staff security awareness training, and leading an effort to evaluate and implement Salesforce CRM to improve business processes and analytics for sponsorship sales, contract management, ticket sales, and volunteer signup, event scheduling, and website integration.

Ed is also experienced in deploying server and client software, configuring database security and maintenance, assisting Actg. Dept's paperless initiative, testing workflow, mobile app, and PCI compliance. Additionally, they have implemented multilevel redundancy of mission-critical data with on-site and cloud solutions including Azure Backup, Site Replication, Amazon S3, and Dropbox.

Ed Hanson has a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from the Oregon Institute of Technology. Ed is certified by Microsoft in Azure Fundamentals, Windows Server 2012, and MCSE+I. Ed is also certified by (ISC)2 as a CISSP and by Microsoft as an MCT. Ed has a Q security clearance from the US Department of Energy.

Ed Hanson reports to Peter Formisano, CEO. They work with James Burwell - Head, Marketing & Product Management, Gentry Neal - Head of Production, and Phil Montera - Head, Sales & Operations.
