Julie Banks

Julie Banks is currently the Controller at Safety Services Company. Julie has over 9 years of experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles. Prior to their current position, Ms. Banks was the Senior Director of Accounting for SkyMall from July 2012 to June 2015. In this role, they managed day-to-day accounting operations, in a high volume environment, and month-end close functions ensuring accurate and timely reporting of all financial information. Julie also developed and managed a staff of 10 in the areas of payables, inventory, receivables and general ledger; setting goals, providing feedback, distributing workloads and ensuring efficient operations in a team environment. Additionally, they coordinated reviews and annual audits, preparing schedules, trend analyses and variance explanations. Ms. Banks also streamlined Inventory, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger functions, improving accuracy, efficiency and internal controls, utilizing existing systems and reducing headcount. Julie assisted the CFO with the preparation of 10-K and 10-Q filings, primarily footnotes and financial statements.

Prior to their role at SkyMall, Ms. Banks was the Manager of Financial Planning for Rural/Metro Corporation from November 2010 to July 2012. In this role, they were responsible for leading the development of short-range and long-range financial plans as well as providing analytical support to help achieve business objectives. Additionally, they developed integrated business practices across various departments to streamline processes and improve efficiencies.

Before their time

Julie Banks completed their Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Arizona State University and is certified by the Arizona State Board of Accountancy as a Certified Public Accountant.

They work with Ed Hanson - Director of IT, Mark Shanks - Brand Marketing Manager, and Justin Bilodeau - Head of Fulfilment. Julie Banks reports to Peter Formisano, CEO.
