Helena Kocis

Helena Kocis has a strong background in information science and business intelligence. Helena began their career as an Information Specialist at Selectide Corp., providing on-line information services for scientists. Helena later worked at Johnson & Johnson as an Information Specialist, where they searched patent scientific literature and provided relevant information to the organization.

Kocis then joined AstraZeneca, initially as a Senior Information Scientist and later as an IS Senior Information Scientist and SharePoint Application Scientist. In these roles, they conducted various patent searches, including landscapes and prior art searches. Helena also headed internal projects and trained people on SharePoint. Additionally, they served as the Head of the Art Committee at AstraZeneca for 12 years, responsible for budgeting, art selection, and installation.

After their time at AstraZeneca, Kocis joined Science & Patents as a Patent Information Professional. In this role, they specialized in searching and analyzing scientific information and provided professional support for patent and literature search requests.

Most recently, Kocis joined Sage Therapeutics as the Lead of Business Intelligence. In this position, they are responsible for overseeing business intelligence efforts within the company.

Throughout their career, Kocis has demonstrated expertise in information searching, analysis, and management, particularly in the fields of biotech and pharma. Helena is skilled in utilizing various databases and tools, such as SharePoint, to deliver optimal results and provide professional visualization when necessary. Kocis also has a background in art and has experience leading art committees and selecting artwork for corporate buildings.

Helena Kocis holds a Master's degree in Chemistry, with a focus on Polymer Sciences, from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague (UCT Prague). No specific dates are provided for their education at the university.
