Milena Karny

Milena Karny has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical research. Milena is currently working as a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator at Sage Therapeutics since September 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Clinical Operations Associate at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies (U.S.) from January 2022 to September 2022. Before that, they served as a Clinical Study Associate II at Avanir Pharmaceuticals (a division of Otsuka) from March 2021 to January 2022.

Earlier in their career, Milena worked as a Clinical Research Associate at MicroVention-Terumo from May 2020 to March 2021. Their responsibilities in this role included supporting the start-up and execution of post-market clinical studies for a Class III Thrombecomy medical device, assisting in protocol amendments, IRB approval process, and audit preparation, as well as reviewing and preparing technical documentation.

Milena also worked at Recros Medica, Inc. where they held the position of Associate Clinical Research Specialist from February 2020 to May 2020. In this role, they conducted site start-up activities, vendor management, EDC study build, study management, SOP and study plan generation, IP logistics, and site close-out activities. Prior to this, they worked as a Clinical Trials Assistant at Recros Medica from January 2019 to February 2020.

Before entering the field of clinical research, Milena worked as an R&D Scientist at Irvine Scientific from January 2018 to December 2018.

Milena Karny pursued their education chronologically starting in 2011. From 2011 to 2014, they attended Irvine Valley College and earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Chemistry and Health Sciences.

Following their time at Irvine Valley College, Milena Karny joined the University of California, Berkeley from 2015 to 2017. Milena obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Molecular Environmental Biology during their tenure at the institution.

In 2018 and 2019, Milena Karny enrolled in the University of California, Irvine Division of Continuing Education. Milena completed a certificate program in Clinical Trials: Medical Device and Drug Development.

In addition to their academic achievements, Milena Karny received the OSHA 30 Hours certification from ClickSafety in September 2014.
