Scott Barros

Scott Barros has extensive work experience in the field of toxicology and nonclinical development. Scott is currently serving as the VP of Toxicology & Pathology at ReNAgade Therapeutics since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Sage Therapeutics starting in 2016, where they held the roles of Senior Director, Head of Toxicology and Director, Nonclinical Development. From 2008 to 2016, they worked at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals as the Director of Investigative Toxicology. Before that, they held the position of Senior Scientist in Toxicology at Archemix Corp. from 2007 to 2008. Scott also gained experience as a Principal Scientist in Toxicology at Novartis Pharmaceuticals from 2006 to 2007. Scott began their career as a Scientist in Investigative Toxicology at Millennium Pharmaceuticals in 2004. Prior to that, they served as a Post-Doctoral Trainee at NIEHS from 2004 to 2005. Scott holds a graduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they were a Graduate Student from 1999 to 2003.

Scott Barros has a strong educational background in the field of Toxicology. Scott completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Pharmacology & Toxicology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. Subsequently, they pursued further education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where they earned their PhD in Toxicology between 1999 and 2003.
