Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics
Ushasi Datta has extensive experience in experimental nuclear physics, currently serving as a Professor at the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics since June 2002. In this role, Ushasi focuses on experiments involving stable and unstable beams at various accelerator facilities, aiming to understand quantum many-body systems, particularly the structure and reaction dynamics of exotic nuclei, as well as nuclear astrophysics. Prior to this, Ushasi held the position of Alexander Von Humboldt Fellow at GSI, Darmstadt from January 2005 to December 2006, where research concentrated on exploring the properties of nuclei at the limits of existence. Ushasi's earlier experience at GSI, Darmstadt from June 1999 to June 2002 as a Visiting Scientist involved studying exotic nuclei and contributing to experimental setup, data analysis, and interpretation. Ushasi holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Nuclear Physics from the University of Kolkata, alongside multiple degrees in physics from prominent institutions in Kolkata.
