Sai Raghu Thota started their career at Union Pacific Railroad in 2010, where they held various roles related to the Positive Train Control (PTC) project. Sai Raghu began as a Senior Test Engineer/Analyst/Lead, responsible for testing all modules of the PTC project and analyzing system requirements. Sai Raghu also authored test cases and conducted functional, integration, and regression testing. In 2015, they transitioned to the role of Senior Project Engineer, where they continued to contribute to the PTC project until 2019. In April 2019, they took on the position of Associate System Engineer, focusing on PTC. In 2022, Sai Raghu Thota joined Saicon as the Head of Railroad Practice, overseeing railroad operations and technologies.

Sai Raghu Thota obtained their Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from PRASAD V POTLURI SIDDHARTHA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed their Intermediate education with a focus on Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at Nalanda College of Arts, Commerce & Science from 2004 to 2006. Sai Raghu also attended Nirmala High School for their schooling, although the specific dates are not provided. In addition to their formal education, Sai Raghu Thota obtained a certification as a Certified SAFe 5 Product Owner/Product Manager from Scaled Agile, Inc. in September 2021.
