Yi Yao

Yi Yao is a Senior Scientist II at Sail Biomedicines since November 2022, focusing on immune reprogramming programs to support clinical and business development activities. Previously, Yi served as an Assistant Professor-Research at Michigan State University and a Research Scientist/Instructor at Henry Ford Health System, leading projects on microRNAs in lung macrophage function and securing funding from prestigious organizations such as the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation and NIH. Yi's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the Medical University of Ohio at Toledo, complemented by extensive postdoctoral research at Yale University School of Medicine and experience in product evaluation and development in early career roles. The educational journey includes degrees from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and Tianjin University of Commerce.
