Vivian Ciaramitaro

Vivian Ciaramitaro is an accomplished academic and neuroscientist with extensive experience in higher education and research. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Boston since September 2017 and having held the position of Assistant Professor at the same institution since January 2010, Ciaramitaro has contributed significantly to the field of neuroscience. Previous roles include Assistant Research Professor at UCSD, where lectures on functional magnetic resonance imaging were taught, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Salk Institute focusing on functional imaging and neurophysiology at New York University. In addition to academic and research pursuits, Ciaramitaro has been actively involved in science outreach programs and initiatives promoting self-reliance in women through rock climbing with the organization Sheclimbs. Educational credentials include a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania and dual BA degrees in Neurobiology and Psychology from Cornell University.
