Yaniv Balmas

VP Research at Salt Security

Yaniv Balmas has a diverse work experience in the field of cyber security. Yaniv has held various positions in different companies throughout their career.

Yaniv started their career at ZIM in 2005, where they worked as a Security Analyst and Architect. Yaniv was responsible for designing and operating a large-scale SIEM system and conducting incident response and penetration testing operations.

In 2008, Yaniv moved to Comm-IT, where they initially worked as a Senior Information Security Consultant. In this role, they provided consulting services in incident response, malware research, and security infrastructure design and operations. Later, they became the Head of the Security Division, leading a team of senior security consultants and working on advanced projects in the cyber security field.

In 2012, Yaniv joined Radware as a Security Researcher. Yaniv conducted research on cyber threats, focusing on Denial of Service attacks and other cyber crime-related scenes. Yaniv also provided research services to various departments, ranging from reverse engineering to real-time threat analysis.

Yaniv then joined Check Point Software Technologies in 2014, where they held two roles. Initially, they worked as a Security Researcher, and later, they became the Head of Cyber Research. In these positions, they conducted research and analysis in the cyber security field.

Since 2018, Yaniv has also been involved with BSidesTLV, where they serve as a co-organizer. This is a volunteer role aimed at supporting the Israeli cyber security community.

Most recently, in 2021, Yaniv joined Salt Security as the VP of Research.

Throughout their career, Yaniv Balmas has gained extensive experience in various aspects of cyber security, including research, consulting, incident response, and infrastructure design.

Yaniv Balmas attended Braude Academic College from 2001 to 2005 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Software Engineering.
