Saltwater Games (SWG) is a dynamic and innovative game development studio that thrives on creating immersive gaming experiences. We are currently seeking an innovative and experienced Game Director to lead the development and delivery of the Celeros Game. Much of Celeros is early in its development with a current MVP in the market. There is an opportunity for an ideal candidate to craft and evolve it, utilising their comprehensive experience in seeing a concept evolve through to release and optimisation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Own the overarching Celeros game strategy and roadmap collaborating with the executive team and relevant departments including, Product, Creative, Marketing, Economics and Technology
  2. Own and evolve current thinking and learnings taken from the recent MVP in the market including the incentive design model, progression systems, game mechanics/dynamics, retention and acquisition strategies, game loops, learning curve and handling models.
  3. Provide experience and insight into key technical aspects of the development of the game including technical architecture, platforms, economics, monetisation, narrative, creative direction and the broader product ecosystem of Celeros and Saltwater Games
  4. Manage and direct our AAA partner game studio, including scope, timelines, budgets and resourcing
  5. Review, critique and enhance the current GDD and vision to meet business objecitives
  6. Source and partner with you broad network of providers to fill any gaps required to deliver the vision
  7. Oversee quality control efforts to maintain a high level of quality in all aspects of the game. Address issues and provide feedback to the studio to improve the game's quality
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market competition, and player preferences to make informed decisions about the game's development and positioning in the market
  9. Playtesting of the game to identify areas for improvement, and iterate on the design and development process to enhance the player experience
