The Corporate Paralegal is primarily responsible for providing general corporate governance, commercial, legal, regulatory, compliance, and IP support to the Saluda Legal Department. The position requires working on complex issues requiring an in-depth evaluation of variable factors; critical thinking; identifying and implementing process improvements; and establishing trusting relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. This position has access to and regularly works with sensitive, confidential information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and collaborate with senior leaders, the Legal team, and cross-functional stakeholders in connection with corporate governance, commercial, legal, regulatory, compliance and IP matters, with an emphasis on:
Identify and implement legal and compliance process and policy improvements
Act as an internal point of contact for the Saluda Legal team
Perform and assist with special projects at the direction of the Saluda Legal team
Conduct legal research, analysis and the development of legal advice on a wide range of business and legal issues
Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant legal experience in a corporate law department and/or private practice; medical device experience preferred
BA/BS or equivalent preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of a wide variety of vendor/supplier and sales contracts
Understanding of legal regulatory issues impacting a medical device company
Agile, creative and comfortable in a face-paced environment; able to balance competing priorities
Capable of developing and maintaining effective, professional, and collaborative relationships across Saluda
Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, anticipating needs and building strategic programs to increase efficiencies in the organization
High ethical standards and integrity; ability and maturity to maintain confidential information
