The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s financial accounting and reporting activities and will play a key role in the company’s financial management. The Senior Financial Accountant will work closely with the Senior Financial Accounting Manager to oversee the general ledger. Work location will be hybrid remote with 2-3 days a week in our global headquarters in Minnetonka, Minnesota. 

Responsibilities:

   

  • Solid understanding of financial reporting and general ledger for multi-entity structure including consolidations with a good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Ensure accurate and appropriate coding and approval of all revenue, expenditure, intercompany and journal transactions to their appropriate accounts.

  • Manage month-end and quarter-end/year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals, in accordance with GAAP, and the preparation of analysis against historicals and budget.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Financial Accounting Manager on accurate and timely financial information and reporting, including all financial statements, cash flow and variance analyses, and dashboard reports.

  • Assist in handling of non-routine reporting transactions.

  • On a monthly basis, you will conduct account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger maintenance as well as be responsible for reconciling assigned balance sheets and income statement accounts.

  • Identify process/control weaknesses and work independently to find resolutions.

  

Essential Requirements:

  

  • 5-7+ years of prior accounting experience, preferably in Medical Device.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

  • Big 4/Public accounting experience preferred.

  • CPA certification preferred.

  • Must have an excellent understanding of GAAP, and how to reconcile balance sheet accounts.

  • Strong attention to detail & critical thinking.

  • Good communication skills with the ability to convey financial information to diverse audiences clearly and concisely.
