Rudy Wen

Rudy Wen has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Rudy currently works as an Engineering Manager at Samsara, Inc. since April 2019. Prior to that, they were a Technologist in Residence at Expa from October 2018 to April 2019. Rudy also held the role of Head of Engineering at Pared from February 2017 to October 2018.

Rudy Wen has a strong background in founding and leading engineering teams. Rudy co-founded and served as the Head of Engineering of Flare at Expa from April 2014 to January 2017. During their time at Flare, they raised seed capital, built a team, and launched and iterated product features to increase user engagement and viral growth. Rudy also developed both the iOS app and Node.js backend. Additionally, they built and launched Bunch, a video walkie-talkie app, within 4 weeks.

Earlier in their career, Rudy Wen worked as a Senior Firmware Engineer at Adura Technologies, Inc. from June 2012 to January 2014. Rudy was responsible for monitoring and reducing commercial building energy usage through a wireless mesh network. Rudy also worked at webOS as a Senior Software Engineer in User Experience Strategy and Technology (R&D) from April 2011 to December 2011, and as a Senior System Software Engineer from July 2009 to March 2011.

Rudy Wen's career began at Qualcomm Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer from January 2005 to July 2009. Rudy has expertise in programming languages such as C, Objective-C, and JavaScript, as well as frameworks and technologies including Node.js, Express, jQuery, and Bootstrap.

Rudy Wen pursued their education starting from 1998 to 2002 at Tufts University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. Following this, they attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2002 to 2004, where they completed a Master of Science degree in Information Networking Institute.
