Federico Casalegno is an accomplished professional in design and innovation, currently serving as the Head of Samsung Global Design Strategy and Global Design Studios since February 2018. Casalegno has held multiple leadership roles within Samsung Electronics, focusing on areas such as computational design, experience design planning, and innovation. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Design Lab from 2006 to 2021, Casalegno has contributed significantly to technological innovations in design. Additional experience includes positions at MIT as an Associate Professor of the Practice, research scientist at the MIT Media Laboratory, and user experience designer at Motorola and Philips Design. Casalegno’s academic qualifications include a Ph.D. from Université Paris-Sorbonne, a postdoctoral degree from the University of Ottawa, and a Global Executive Leadership Program certification from Harvard Business School.
