Joe Pittel

Joe Pittel has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Joe is currently the Secretary of the Board of Directors at StarPlus Energy, a position they have held since July 2023. Prior to this, Joe served in various roles at Samsung SDI America Inc., including General Counsel and Vice President of Legal and Public Affairs. Joe was responsible for overseeing the legal department, compliance function, government relations, and regulatory affairs. Joe also worked at Faurecia as the Deputy General Counsel and Director of Legal for North America, and as a Regional Compliance Officer. Joe has also held positions at Magna International as a Compliance Officer and Legal Counsel, at The Mike Cox Law Firm as a Partner, at Secrest Wardle as an Associate, at the Michigan Department of Attorney General as an Assistant Attorney General, at Oakland County Corporation Counsel as an Assistant Corporation Counsel, and at Towers Perrin as an Analyst.

Joe Pittel earned their BA in Finance and a degree in Political Economy from Michigan State University - Eli Broad College of Business and Michigan State University James Madison College, respectively, from 1997 to 2001. Joe then pursued an MBA in Business Administration and a JD in Law from the University of Detroit Mercy and University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, respectively, from 2002 to 2005. Joe also holds additional certifications as a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional from the Compliance Certification Board, obtained in August 2014, and a Law License from the State Bar of Michigan, obtained in 2005. Prior to their higher education, they attended De La Salle Collegiate High School from 1993 to 1997.
