Shana Bird

Shana Bird is an experienced educator and library professional currently serving as a Library Assistant and Library Aide at San Mateo County Libraries since March 2023. Previous roles include Impact Manager at City Year San José/Silicon Valley and Kindergarten Teacher at Aspire Public Schools, where Shana effectively delivered grade-level content to young learners and collaborated with teaching teams. Shana has also taught Pre Kindergarten and ESL Kindergarten in the Austin Independent School District and provided literacy tutoring to K-2 students through Literacy First. With a strong educational background, Shana is pursuing a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University, building on a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCLA and an Early Childhood-6th Grade Texas Teaching Certification.
