Kevin Tharratt

Kevin Tharratt has a diverse work experience spanning multiple fields, starting with their current role as a Hardware Engineering, Sensing Resident at SandboxAQ since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Scientist at Adecco at Google from August 2021 to December 2021. Kevin also served as a Data Aide at Stanford University from June 2018 to August 2021, where they maintained and improved a complex medical database and led a team to automate it, resulting in a 50% efficiency improvement. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Student at UC Irvine from April 2016 to May 2017, focusing on synthesizing biomaterials for stealth technology.

Before that, Kevin gained research experience as a Postgraduate Researcher at Stanford University from June 2014 to April 2016, where they researched quantum electrical interactions in graphene and published in Nature Communications. Kevin also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Cornell University from May 2013 to May 2014, conducting research on material science and engineering. At Cornell, they also worked as a Student Instructor and Outdoor Gear Manager at Cornell Outdoor Education from January 2011 to May 2014, teaching various outdoor courses and managing gear.

Earlier in their undergraduate years, Kevin served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for two projects at Cornell University. From January 2011 to January 2013, they studied physical models in the single-cell organism Dictyostelium discoideum and examined epigenetic inheritance factors. In May 2012, they worked on the complete synthesis of surugatoxin, a neurotoxin found in Japanese ivory mollusk Babylonia japonica, under the guidance of Dr. Chad Lewis in the Chemistry and Chemical Biology department at Cornell.
