Caroline Kumsta is an accomplished researcher with extensive experience in biochemistry and molecular biology. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute since September 2009, Caroline has held various positions including Research Assistant Professor, Staff Scientist, and Postdoctoral Fellow. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Michigan under Dr. Ursula Jakob, where research focused on the antioxidant protein Peroxiredoxin-2 and its influence on aging. Caroline earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan in 2008, preceded by a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the Technical University of Munich.
