Rati Fotedar is a seasoned academic with extensive experience in cancer biology and cell cycle control. Currently serving as a Professor at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute since 2009, Rati Fotedar focuses on the mechanisms of cell cycle inhibition by cyclin-dependent kinases, cellular senescence, and cell cycle control in human stem cells. Rati Fotedar also holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the San Diego Community College District since 2016 and was a member and chair of the California Breast Cancer Research Program Council from 2019 to 2023. Previous roles include Professor at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center and the Center National de la Recherche Scientifique, where research concentrated on DNA damage response and replication. Rati Fotedar's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences, Immunology from the University of Alberta and postdoctoral fellowship at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
