Amitava Bandyopadhyay

Amitava Bandyopadhyay has over 22 years of work experience. Amitava currently works as the General Manager and Head of the Eastern Region at The Sanmar Group, where they are responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, leading a team of 40+ members, and cultivating strong relationships with clients in the Oil and Gas, Power, and Steel sectors.

Prior to their current role, Amitava worked at Flowserve Corporation as a Senior Manager and Group Leader from 2017 to 2023. Before that, they served as the Regional Business Head for the East and Bangladesh at Rexnord Power Transmission from 2016 to 2017, where they were responsible for driving revenue and profitability through channel business and partner growth.

From 2006 to 2015, Amitava held various positions at Flowserve Corporation, including Manager of Sales and Marketing, Joint Manager in Project Specification and Market Analysis, and Executive Manager as a Key Account Manager and After Sales Specialist. During their time there, they achieved strong sales performance, developed marketing intelligence, and formulated sales and marketing plans.

Amitava's work experience also includes roles at Kirloskar Brothers Limited as an Assistant Manager in Project Offer and Spare Sales from 2005 to 2006, and at KSB Company as a Sales Officer in Tendering and Channel Management from 2004 to 2005.

Amitava began their career at Tractor India Private Limited as a Sales Engineer in Power Solution Selling from 2000 to 2004, where they successfully developed a new system for generating sales leads and handled technical pre-qualification and customer proposals.

Later, they pursued an Executive MBA with a specialization in Marketing from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, between the years 2004 and 2006. Additionally, they obtained two certificates of completion, in Sales Training Program Level 1 and Level 2, from Caterpillar India Private Limited in July 2003 and November 2003, respectively.
