Mbali Phewa

Mbali Phewa is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in transformation, business development, and sustainability across various sectors. Currently serving as the Head of Transformation at Santam Insurance since June 2021, Mbali previously held the position of Business Development Lead (SADC) at Solidaridad Network. Prior to that, roles at KPMG South Africa included Transformation & Inclusion Lead and Senior Manager of Sustainability, focusing on private sector-led socio-economic development. Experience also encompasses significant contributions at Adam Smith International as Senior Manager for Infrastructure, Climate Change, and Agribusiness, and at DAI in various managerial and project roles, notably managing large-scale programs aimed at enhancing agricultural markets and climate resilience across multiple African nations. Mbali holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sustainable Governance from the University of Johannesburg and an Honors Degree in Demography and Population Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand.
