Alexander Joyner, M.Eng, PhD

Alexander Joyner, M.Eng, PhD has a vast work experience in the field of bioinformatics and genomics. Alexander currently works as an Application Scientist at Saphetor. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Field Application Scientist at Genomenon, Inc from May 2019 to July 2020, and at WuXi NextCODE from October 2018 to February 2019. Alexander also worked as a Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist at Machaon Diagnostics from February 2015 to October 2018. Alexander's earlier experiences include working as a Technical Sales Specialist at Ion Torrent Syst from February 2014 to January 2015, and as a Scientist III, Bioinformatics at Life Technologies from 2011 to 2014.

Alexander Joyner earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Computer Science from William & Mary in the years 1994-1998. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Bioengineering at UCSD from 2002-2003. Finally, they completed their PhD in Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in Bioinformatics at UC San Diego from 2005-2010.
