Emily Lanfear has extensive experience in the legal field, with their most recent position as Head of Legal at Sarasin & Partners LLP, reporting directly to the Managing Partner/CEO. In this role, they managed legal risk, handled people and budget management, and ensured compliance with policies and procedures. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Legal Counsel at the same company, specializing in UK and Irish regulated fund structuring and maintenance. Emily also handled fund distribution and platform agreements, as well as custody, depositary, and fund administration agreements. Before joining Sarasin & Partners LLP, Emily worked as a Senior Lawyer at Barclays Investment Bank, primarily focusing on Prime Services. At Universities Superannuation Scheme (Ltd), they served as a Legal Counsel for a brief period. Emily started their career as a Solicitor at Federated Hermes - International, where they handled a broad range of responsibilities related to funds and investment management, including fixed income, equities, emerging markets, private equity, regulatory compliance, and corporate matters.

Emily Lanfear has a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in Law from the University of Southampton. Emily also completed a short course in Derivatives and Securities law at the University of Westminster in 2017. In 2018, they took a short course in Understanding Financial Technologies at The Open University. Emily then pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Corporate Law at UCL from 2018 to 2021. In 2020, they completed a short course in Finance for Non-Financial Managers at City, University of London. Currently, they are working towards an Executive MBA degree in Business Administration and Management, General at Quantic School of Business and Technology, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
