Jamie Carson

Jamie Carson is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in public affairs and media relations. Currently serving as the Director of Communications for Sarasota County Government since August 2013, Jamie leads a team of creative professionals focused on community engagement and public service. Prior experience includes roles as a Public Affairs Specialist at the US Army Combined Arms Support Command and a Marketing and Public Relations Specialist for the US Army, where responsibilities encompassed supervising public affairs activities, managing media relations, and promoting military initiatives through various platforms. Jamie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication from Florida International University and is a certified Public Affairs Officer from the Defense Information School.
