Doug Peters has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Doug began their career as an Engineer at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger, where they conducted building investigations and designed remediations. Doug then joined Applied Research Associates, Inc., taking on various roles such as Senior Engineer, Group Leader, and Division Manager/Principal Engineer. During their time at ARA, Doug oversaw division performance, led strategic planning, and served as Principal Investigator on the Nemesis Humanitarian Demining Robotic program.
Doug went on to work at RE2, where they served as VP Operations and played a key role in the $100M acquisition by Sarcos Technology and Robotics Corporation. Doug oversaw internal operations, financials, legal compliance, and fostered a culture of trust and teamwork. Doug later became Vice President of Operations at Sarcos Robotics, leading IT, Facilities, Administration, and Security. Doug also facilitated the integration of Sarcos and RE2, creating cross-location teams and standardizing processes.
In their most recent role as Vice President of People and Business Operations at Sarcos Robotics, Doug led People Operations, collaborated with various departments, and contributed to strategic decision-making as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Overall, Doug's expertise lies in operations management, strategic planning, organizational integration, and fostering a positive work culture.
Doug Peters received their Bachelor of Engineering in Architectural Engineering from Penn State University in 1992. Doug later pursued a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering at North Carolina State University from 1996 to 1998.
