Erin Frey

Director, Global Program Management And Business Analytics at Sarepta Therapeutics

Erin Frey, PhD, has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology and life sciences field. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Graduate Research Fellow at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where they conducted research on ion channels and their effects on pain, learning, memory, and neuronal death. Following that, from 2013 to 2018, they served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis, focusing on understanding neuronal injury signaling and its impact on cell death, axon degeneration, and axon regeneration. In 2018, they joined The BALSA Group as a volunteer Consultant, participating in projects related to market analysis, technology assessment, business plan development, and strategic planning for local companies and startups. Concurrently, from 2018 to 2020, they worked as a Project Manager at Discovery Life Sciences, where they led teams in completing biospecimen procurement and screening projects for pharmaceutical companies. Currently, their most recent position, since 2020, is at Sarepta Therapeutics, where they started as a Sr. Manager of Project Management for Gene Therapy Research and then progressed to Associate Director of Global Program Management before becoming the Director of Global Program Management and Business Analytics.

Erin Frey, PhD, completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biochemistry and Neuroscience at Ohio Wesleyan University in the years 2004 to 2008. Erin then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program at The Ohio State University from 2008 to 2013.
