Jacob Elkins

Chief Medical Officer at Sarepta Therapeutics

Jacob Elkins has a strong background in the medical field, with experience in both research and clinical roles. Jacob began their career as an Attending Physician at UCSF Medical Center in 2003 and worked there until 2007. Jacob then joined the University of California, San Francisco as an Assistant Professor from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, Elkins moved into the pharmaceutical industry and started at Biogen, where they held various roles, including Associate Director, Medical Research, and Vice President of different departments. In 2020, they joined Sarepta Therapeutics as the Senior Vice President for R&D, and later became the Chief Medical Officer in February 2022.

Jacob Elkins earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University in 1992. Jacob then attended Harvard Medical School from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained their MD. Later, from 2004 to 2006, they attended the University of California, San Francisco, where they earned a Master of Advanced Studies in Clinical Research.
