We are seeking an investment intern to join our small, entrepreneurial team. Internship Opportunity

This internship will focus on supporting Sarona’s investment team in originating, assessing and monitoring impact investment opportunities, including private equity, venture capital and private debt funds, co-investment opportunities, secondaries and direct loans to financial institutions, across global emerging markets.

Accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Review investment pitch decks and other materials from prospective investees
  • Contribute to investment memos by performing macroeconomic analysis and mapping of relevant markets and asset classes
  • Maintain and update Salesforce database of investment opportunities
  • Support with preparation of monthly and quarterly Investor reports
  • Help organize meetings with co-investors, prospective investees, etc.
  • Support market research and pipeline development projects focused on gender lens and climate finance
  • As needed contribute to the drafting of presentations and other materials related to the various investment mandates Sarona manages
  • Support with impact reporting

Required qualifications

The ideal candidate has the following profile:

  • Currently pursuing a Masters degree in business, economics, finance, sustainable development, climate studies or equivalent.
  • Passionate about positive social and environmental impact through investments
  • Experience or interest in data management
  • Entrepreneurial and professional team player
  • Curious and “Get things done” mentality
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Lived experience from emerging markets seen as an asset
  • Clear affinity with Sarona’s strategy, culture and values

Salary Range:                       CAD 23.00 per hour
