Reggie Townsend

Vice President, Data Ethics at SAS Institute

Reggie Townsend serves as the Vice President of Data Ethics at SAS since June 2015, spearheading global initiatives to implement human-centered practices and minimize harms associated with AI technologies. Townsend has previously held roles as Director of Data Ethics Practice and Principal of Cloud & Consulting, focusing on healthcare and life sciences industries. Additionally, Townsend is a member of the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee, advising the U.S. President on AI initiatives. Prior experience includes a Senior Executive role at Knowledge Advantage, ownership of Sage Life, LLC, and engagements at Sun Microsystems and IBM. Townsend holds an MBA in Technology Management and Marketing from the Illinois Institute of Technology, a BS in Electronics Engineering from Southern Illinois University, and Masters Certificates in Leadership Arts from the University of Chicago and Project Management from The George Washington University.
