Rumbi Mathema CFA has a diverse work experience in various financial institutions. Rumbi started their career as an Equity Analyst at Securities Africa from June 2008 to April 2010. Rumbi then moved on to the Industrial Development Corporation of SA Ltd. (IDC) as an ALM Strategist from June 2010 to April 2015. In this role, they were responsible for measuring and reporting market and liquidity risk, formulating risk mitigation strategies, and providing 5-year equity price forecasts.
After IDC, Rumbi joined Absa Group as a Risk Analyst, specializing in non-traded market risk, from May 2015 to December 2016. Following their experience at Absa, they worked at Liberty Group South Africa as a Senior ALM Specialist from February 2017 to July 2019, where they were involved in asset and liability management.
Most recently, Rumbi joined Sasfin in September 2019 as a Senior Manager in Quantitative Risk & Analytics. Rumbi then became Head of Quantitative Risk Management from February 2020 to December 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Enterprise Risk, starting from January 2022.
Throughout their career, Rumbi Mathema has gained extensive expertise in risk management, asset and liability management, quantitative analysis, and equity research. Rumbi holds a CFA designation.
Rumbi Mathema CFA began their education in 2003, completing a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Applied Mathematics at the National University of Science and Technology (ZW) in 2007. Rumbi later pursued further academic achievements, undertaking the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program from 2013 to 2015, specializing in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law.
