Jack Zhang

Associate Vice-president, Strategic Technologies at Saskatchewan Research Council

Jack Zhang has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Jack began their career as a Process Engineer at China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (SINOPEC) in 1997 and worked there until 2003. From 2007 to 2011, Jack served as a Plant Metallurgist at Cameco - Rabbit Lake Operation. In 2010, they joined Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) as a Principal Engineer in Mineral Processing and Hydrometallurgy and held that position until 2019. Within SRC, they also served as a Manager in Mineral Processing and Hydrometallurgy from 2019 to 2022, and as the Director of Operations and R&D from 2020 to 2022. Currently, Jack holds the role of Associate Vice-President of Strategic Technologies at SRC since July 2022. Additionally, they have taken on the role of Adjunct Professor at the University of Saskatchewan since January 2013.

Jack Zhang obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Shandong University from 1993 to 1997. Jack later pursued a PhD in Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, Jack Zhang received certifications, including "Designing A Business" from IDEO U in December 2019 and the "SABEX Award of Innovation 2011" from the Saskatoon Achievement & Business Excellence (SABEX), Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce in May 2011.
