Jerin Mathai

Instrumentation Research Technologist at Saskatchewan Research Council

Jerin Mathai's most recent work experience is as an Instrumentation Research Technologist at the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC), starting in May 2022. In this role at SRC's Pipeflow Technology Center, Jerin performs and assists in various tests and experiments for clients from different sectors such as oil and gas, potash and uranium, rare earth elements, etc. Primary responsibilities include performing tests and experiments, as well as calibration and maintenance of instruments, data acquisition systems, and pipeline loops.

Prior to their role at SRC, Jerin worked as an Instrumentation Co-op Student at Kirby Controls from September 2021 to January 2022. Before that, they served as a Student Wellness Coordinator at Saskatchewan Polytechnic from October 2019 to January 2021.

Jerin Mathai obtained a Diploma of Education in Instrumentation Technology/Technician from Saskatchewan Polytechnic from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Automation Engineering from the University of Kerala in 2017 and 2018. Jerin also holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University from 2011 to 2015.

In addition to their formal education, Jerin Mathai has obtained several certifications. Jerin completed a Confined Space Entry certification from Trinity Safety & Training in June 2022, a Fall Protection certification from the same institution in June 2022, and a Common Safety Orientation certification from Energy Safety Canada in September 2021. Jerin also obtained a Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certification from the Canadian Red Cross in September 2021, a Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification from Danatec in September 2021, and an Introduction to SCADA (IC30M01) certification from the International Society of Automation (ISA) in September 2020. Furthermore, they completed a Concepts of Process Control (FG05M01) certification from the International Society of Automation (ISA) in May 2020 and an H2S Alive certification from eSafetyFirst Canada in September 2021.
