Olivia Salas

Jazz Double Bass Teaching Artist at Savannah Music Festival

Olivia Salas is an accomplished musician and educator currently serving as the Double Bass Orchestral Inclusion Fellow at Charleston Symphony Orchestra, where responsibilities include performing and leading community engagement initiatives. In addition, Olivia is a Jazz Double Bass Teaching Artist at Savannah Music Festival, providing lessons to students in grades 5-12. As Principal Double Bass with Savannah Philharmonic, Olivia performs regularly and participates in community outreach. Previous experience includes a teaching artist role with the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, freelance music performance and instruction, and various teaching positions including leading afterschool programs and serving as a graduate teaching assistant at UCLA. Olivia holds a Master of Music in Double Bass from UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and a double degree in Double Bass Performance and Neuroscience from Oberlin College.
