Susan Nicolai

Susan Nicolai serves as the Global Director for Education/Learn at Save the Children International since June 2023, while also holding the title of Senior Research Associate and Senior Research Fellow at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) since March 2017. With significant expertise in education and development issues, Susan has collaborated with major organizations such as DFID, USAID, and the Gates Foundation on various research initiatives. Previous roles include Head of Programme at Education Research in Conflict and Protracted Crisis, Director of Research at EdTech Hub, and leadership positions in the establishment of the Global Education Cluster at Save the Children International. Susan's extensive background also includes experience as a Program Officer for the United Nations, Research Consultant for UNESCO IIEP, and Education Adviser for Save the Children UK. Susan holds a Master of Arts in Education and International Development from the University of London, a Graduate Certificate in Rural Development and Management from the University of Madras, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Concordia College.
