Vice President, Data Architecture, Assessment Technology And Cloud Operations at Savvas Learning

Sudhakar Shanmugam has a diverse range of work experience in various roles related to data architecture, technology project management, and software development.

Starting in 2005, Sudhakar worked as a Software Engineer at Buoyant Technologies until 2007. Sudhakar then joined Atlas Systems as a Technical Lead, where they performed variance analyses, prepared financial projections, and participated in data collection and tool evaluation decisions.

In 2010, Sudhakar joined HCL Technologies as a Lead Consultant, where they developed internet applications using Java, Servlet, JSP, Struts, Hibernate, Spring, XML, and other web-based development tools.

In 2012, Sudhakar joined Pearson as a Consultant, working on technical design, test development using Spring and Selenium, and configuring AWS resources. Sudhakar also served as a Technical Team Lead, leading the decoupling of the content service layer from the platform and migrating contents to the Equella Platform Services. From 2015 to 2018, Sudhakar served as the Manager of Software Development, managing and mentoring software development teams, and overseeing the DevOps team for continuous delivery.

In 2018, Sudhakar became the Director of Data Architecture at Pearson K-12 Learning Services, where they implemented operational changes to achieve cost savings and consolidated services architecture for multiple products.

In 2019, Sudhakar joined Savvas Learning Co (formerly Pearson K12 Learning) as the Director of Data Architecture, focusing on scaling the educational platform, resolving data integrity issues, and building a near real-time reporting platform. Finally, in July 2021, Sudhakar was promoted to Vice President, Data Architecture, Assessment Technology, and Cloud Operations at the same company.

Sudhakar Shanmugam attended SASTRA from 1996 to 1999 where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). Sudhakar then enrolled at Arul Migu Meenakshi Ammal Engineering College from 2003 to 2005 to pursue a Master of Engineering (ME) degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
