Genevieve Croft

Program Scientist at Schmidt Futures

Genevieve Croft is a Program Scientist at Schmidt Futures, working with the BioFutures Program to develop and manage research opportunities to advance a vibrant and circular U.S. bioeconomy.

Prior to Schmidt Futures, Genevieve spent ten years in federal service, most recently as a Specialist in Agricultural Policy at the Congressional Research Service. In this role, she advised congressional Members and staff on climate change, biotechnology, and federal research priorities. Genevieve has also held policy and technical roles in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the Peace Corps. During her career, Genevieve has been selected for research and policy fellowships including the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology (S&T) Policy Fellowship, the National Academy of Sciences Christine Mirzayan S&T Policy Fellowship, the Office of Science and Technology Policy graduate internship, and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

Genevieve holds a Ph.D. in Biology and Biomedical Sciences from Washington University in St. Louis, and a BS in Biology from Georgetown University.
