Chrystal Smith has extensive experience in graphic design and art direction, currently serving as the Design Managing Editor and Design Editor at Science Magazine since August 2012, where responsibilities include editorial layout and conceptual illustrations. Previous work includes freelance graphic design for Elizabeth Seton High School's Admissions office from June 2012 to December 2015, as well as a graphic design contractor role at UMBC The Shriver Center from August 2011 to September 2012. Additional experience encompasses a publications internship at the National Aquarium in early 2012 and various student positions at UMBC from September 2010 to May 2012. Chrystal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design and Photography, along with a minor in Art History, from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where studies were completed in 2012.
