John Dunlop has extensive work experience in the field of environmental and sustainability management. John has held various roles in different companies, starting in 2013 with RES as the Company Group Head of Environment and Sustainability. John then worked with Kier Group, Alstom, and Rydon in various environmental and sustainability management roles. In 2016, they joined UK Power Networks Services as a Project Lead Environmental and Sustainability Manager. John also worked with Fusion JV as a Lead Consents Manager and Glan Agua Ltd as a Project Lead Compliance Manager. More recently, they have held roles with RSK Group as a Section Lead Consents Manager and with Kier Group as a Team Leader Consents Manager. Currently, they are the Consents Compliance Manager Lead at ScottishPower for their East Anglia 3 offshore windfarm project.

John Dunlop's education history includes a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Environmental Analysis and Assessment from Imperial College London, which they obtained from 2006 to 2007. John also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Environmental Management from the University of Liverpool, which they completed from 2000 to 2003.
