Divisional Head Of Strategy, Planning And Partnerships at Scottish Prison Service

Rob Strachan has extensive work experience in strategy, planning, and partnerships within the criminal justice system. Rob served as the Divisional Head of Strategy, Planning, and Partnerships at the Scottish Prison Service from 2015 to the present. Prior to that, they were the Chief Officer at Lothian and Borders Community Justice Authority from 2010 to 2015. Rob also worked as an Assistant Director for Safer Communities at the Home Office from January 2010 to October 2010. Before that, they held various leadership positions at The Home Office, including Head of Safer Communities - NE of England from 2006 to 2010, Head of Stronger Communities - NE England from 2004 to 2006, Head of Neighbourhood Renewal from 2001 to 2004, and Housing and Local Government Adviser from 1999 to 2001.

Rob Strachan obtained a Higher National Certificate in Public Administration from James Watt College between 1991 and 1993. Following that, they pursued a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Housing at The University of Glasgow from 1993 to 1996.
