Daniel Kathein is an emerging talent in the fields of artificial intelligence and software development, currently serving as an ML Research Intern at Carnegie Mellon University’s Language Technologies Institute. At CMU, Daniel is engaged in research focused on large language models, fine-tuning them for code generation. In addition, Daniel works as a Software Developer for ScottyLabs, where the development of a web application called CMUCal is in progress, aimed at integrating academic resources for students. Previous experience includes a role as a Machine Learning Researcher at the University of Florida, where Daniel designed a novel Transformer-based multi-camera tracking algorithm, and a successful stint as a Full-Stack Software Engineer in freelance work that generated significant revenue through e-commerce monitoring. Daniel also contributed to AI research at Inspirit AI, focusing on applications in genomics, self-driving cars, and predictive healthcare. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence from Carnegie Mellon University, following studies at Pine Crest School.
