User Interface Team Lead at Sea Machines Robotics

Jesse Roper is currently the User Interface Team Lead at Sea Machines Robotics. Jesse has been in this position since July of 2018 and is responsible for managing laptops and UI software bugs and features for deployment on vessels. Jesse works closely with MEs/EEs and Autonomy/Machine Learning engineers to develop solutions to complex problems.

Before their current position, Jesse was the Software Escalation Manager at Symbotic from June 2014 to June 2017. In this role, they were responsible for code new features and fix bugs in a large code base across several software groups that were in use across the company's test structure and several large production sites across the country. Jesse also coordinated the development effort of the Software Support group working on internal tools that streamline code deployment, support and on-site operations working with WPF/C#/SQL. In addition, they developed and fixed bugs in emulators that simulated hardware components for use by development teams and SQA. Jesse also owned and managed all software delivery to customers, including documentation for management and customer sign-off. Finally, they deployed internal and production SQL scripts, DB backups, replication and DACPACs to update large production databases.

Jesse Roper has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University at Albany, SUNY. Jesse also has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stony Brook University.

They are on a team with Mei Li - Lead Autonomy Engineer, Lauren Lamm - Vessel Test Lead, and Jin Zhiying - Senior Director, Software Engineering. Their manager is Ephraim Dobbins, VP, Product Development & Engineering.
