Nicola Stephen

Nicola Stephen has a diverse work experience spanning over 10 years. Nicola started their career at Deloitte, where they worked as an Audit Manager for 4 years before transitioning to the Finance Advisory group as an Advisory Client Manager. In this role, they delivered finance-related projects, identified and resolved issues, and brought new ideas to the team.

In 2015, Nicola joined Seadrill as the Group Consolidations Manager, where they oversaw the group consolidations of 4 listed entities. Nicola improved the efficiency of the consolidation close process and reviewed HFM functionality. Nicola later served as the Group Reporting Manager before becoming the Commercial Manager, where they were responsible for the rig sales strategy development and execution.

Nicola's career progressed within Seadrill, and they held positions such as Head of Commercial and Commercial Director. In these roles, they led investment decisions, collaborated with C-suite executives to develop contract bid economics templates, and managed rig sales strategy.

Nicola'smost recent role at Seadrill was as the Director of Corporate Development, where they had end-to-end responsibility for all corporate M&A activity. Nicola supported the development of the company's M&A strategy, led capital allocation decisions, and prepared recommendations for the executive committee and board.

Additionally, Nicola had a brief stint as a Restructuring Project Manager at Seadrill, where they managed the accounting function during the bankruptcy filing process, coordinated with external advisers, and evaluated IT solutions for accounting.

Nicola Stephen earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Accounting and Finance from Robert Gordon University from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, in 2017, Nicola completed a Certificate in Global Management, specifically the Management Acceleration Programme, at INSEAD.
