Maxwell McCullar Sphr

Maxwell McCullar has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over three decades. Maxwell began their career as an intern at Walt Disney World, where they explored various departments and developed training programs. Maxwell then worked for Cruise West as a Naturalist Guide and later as a Manager, overseeing guest programs and training a team of onboard naturalist/guides.

Maxwell then joined Summit at Snoqualmie as a Training Manager and HR Manager, where they focused on elevating management and employee training, development, and employee relations. Maxwell also created a leadership and management training program called "Summit University."

In their role at Training, Development & HR Consulting, Maxwell served as an Independent HR Consultant, consulting with various industries and emphasizing the importance of internal brand-building. Maxwell also worked at Holland America Line as a Curriculum & eLearning Development Specialist, LMS Administrator, and Training Specialist, designing and delivering training courses and overseeing the administration of the Learning Management System.

At Cobalt Group / ADP Digital Marketing, Maxwell served as an Instructional Designer and Curriculum Developer, working on training curricula and managing projects across multiple teams.

At UnCruise Adventures, Maxwell served as the Senior Director of Human Resources, leading the HR department during a time of rapid growth and expansion. Maxwell built a strong foundation of HR practices and procedures and curated a team of HR professionals to support the company's seasonal and year-round employees.

Currently, Maxwell is the Human Resources Director at Sealaska, the Alaska Native regional corporation for Southeast Alaska. Maxwell is responsible for implementing HR policies and strategies to support the company's environmental and business objectives.

Throughout their career, Maxwell has demonstrated expertise in HR management, training and development, and building strong HR teams.

Maxwell McCullar SPHR, SHRM-SCP completed their undergraduate education at The University of New Mexico from 1990 to 1995, receiving a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business Communications and English. Maxwell has also obtained several additional certifications, including the SHRM-SCP and the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI, both obtained in January 2019. In April 2015, they earned the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation. Furthermore, in November 2019, Maxwell McCullar obtained the Connection Tilt - Cross Pollinator certification from Tilt 365.
