João Louçano

João Louçano is a Senior Chemist at Searo Labs since March 2024, specializing in the development of seaweed-based formulations aimed at replacing single-use plastics while enhancing mechanical, rheological, and thermoplastic properties. Prior to this, João served as a Senior Scientist at Evonetix Ltd from July 2020 to February 2024, focusing on process validation of DNA synthesizers and mentoring junior staff. João's background includes significant research experience as a Doctoral Student at Freie Universität Berlin, a Guest Scientist at the Max Planck Institute, and various roles in the synthesis of carbohydrates and pharmaceuticals, including research positions at GlycoUniverse GmbH & Co. KGaA and involvement in numerous academic institutions. João holds a Doctor of Natural Sciences in Organic Chemistry from Freie Universität Berlin and advanced degrees in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences from University institutions in Portugal.
