Dan Fried

Engineering Director Commerce at SeatGeek

Dan Fried has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Dan began as a Web Developer at MacFadden Performing Arts Media from 2006 to 2008 and later became the Web Manager from 2009 to 2010. Dan then worked as a Software Engineer at Shapeways, where they were responsible for improving the codebase and building 3D modeling tools. In 2012, Dan joined Techstars as a Hackstar, assisting startup companies with technical and design support. Dan then became the Vice President of Engineering at Lua, a mobile-first messaging service, from 2012 to 2013. Dan's engineering expertise led him to become the Director of Software Engineering at Motivate International Inc. (Citi Bike) from 2016 to 2018, and later the Vice President of Software Engineering at Motivate International Inc. (Acquired by Lyft) from 2018 to 2019. Most recently, Dan has been working at Lyft as the Senior Engineering Manager for Bikes & Scooters, and they are currently the Engineering Director for Commerce at SeatGeek.

Dan Fried attended Stuyvesant High School. Dan then went on to pursue a B.S. in CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies at The Graduate Center, City University of New York.
