Chief Privacy Officer at Seattle Children's Healthcare System

Suzanne McCoy is the current Chief Privacy Officer at Seattle Children's Healthcare System. Prior to this, they served as the Assistant Director of the Privacy & Identity Theft Program at UW Medicine from January 2011 to July 2013. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing all Privacy Program workforce members and was accountable to the Chief Compliance Officer, UW Medicine/Associate Vice President for Medical Affairs, and the Assistant Compliance Officer. Suzanne managed ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of UW Medicine Privacy and Identity Theft Policies and investigated policy violations. Additionally, they played a key role in the development of strategies and initiatives to advance the UW Medicine mission of improving the health of the public. In support of these activities, McCoy maintained a strong working relationship with the Office for Civil Rights, UW Department of Health and Human Services, and other similar agencies. Suzanne also provided development guidance and assisted in the identification, implementation, and maintenance of organization information privacy policies and procedures in coordination with organization management and administration, the Privacy Oversight Committee, and Attorney General’s Office.

Suzanne Mccoy has a BA from Seattle University and a MPA from Seattle University. Suzanne also has a certification from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) in CHPC.

Their manager is Jeff Sperring, Chief Executive Officer & Trustee. Suzanne Mccoy works with Dondi Cupp - SVP & Chief Development Officer, Zafar Chaudry - SVP & Chief Information Officer, and André Dick - Interim Surgeon-in-Chief.
