Laura Gentry has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Laura started their career in 2001 as a Content Producer at Observer-Dispatch, where they were responsible for website content development and design. In 2003, they moved on to The News Tribune as an Online Producer, where they focused on website development and managed the newspaper's initial social media strategy. Laura then joined Seattle Housing Authority in 2009 as a Technical Communications Specialist, where they designed and maintained websites, established a social media presence, and created various digital and print communication materials. In 2014, Laura worked as a Digital Content Manager for the City of Seattle, Office of Mayor Ed Murray, overseeing digital content development and messaging strategy. Laura'smost recent position, starting in 2015, is at The Seattle Public Library, initially as a Communications Specialist and currently serving as the Head of Communications, managing the Library's internal and external messaging, strategic communication initiatives, event planning, and staff intranet content management.
Laura Gentry attended the University of Idaho from 1996 to 2001, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism/Communications.
